Introduction
Rick Mather Architects have been appointed by the University of East London to prepare a detailed development appraisal and proposals for a major 30,000m2 extension to their Docklands Campus on the site of the Royal Docks.
The proposals offer a vibrant new series of spaces that are fully integrated with the wider emerging strategy by the London Development Agency that stretches from ExCeL to UEL. The mixed use development will form a new piece of urban dockside and include industry incubators, offices, teaching and student facilities that expand the university's Enterprise Development service.
London's historic Royal Docks has been given enterprise zone status.
