For scrooges who say Christmas cards are wasteful, it's worth noting that we discovered Rick Mather's Towner Gallery (on this month's cover) because it was featured on a Christmas card he sent us. The team at RMA had photoshopped-in a picture of Santa Claus sneaking a stolen painting across one of the building's distinctive window ledges. The people at the Towner were worried about their insurance however, so they asked if Santa's painting could be one that didn't come from the collection; this way it would look like he was kindly depositing a work of art instead of nicking one. Always the helpful architect, Mather obliged.
