Client
James Allen's Girls' School
Location
Dulwich, London, UK
Size
2894m²
Value
£16m
Completion
The £16 million project comprises a new 100-person recital hall, thirty-five practice and teaching rooms and a 450-capacity symphonic concert hall capable of staging musicals and dance. It can also accommodate school assemblies of up to 800 pupils.
The position and massing of the building is used to create a new public-fronting cloister space around the school entrance and reinforce axial routes through the site. Manipulation of the ground levels allows the building's volume to be concealed and establish direct and simple public access into the performance spaces.
