Introduction

Rick Mather Architects leading a multi-disciplinary team, were placed second in this international invitated competition for the regeneration of Sheffield city centre.

Working closely in partnership with economists, landscape architects and transportation engineers, a carefully orchestrated series of physical interventions was proposed which, in tandem with a shift in the economic base, would bring about the regeneration of Sheffield city centre for the 21st century.
