Project :: 509 : Love Lane Building

Introduction

The new £10 million building at Mansfield College will house new student accommodation comprising 78 student study bedrooms over four floors, two common rooms and office spaces on the ground floor.

The new building will run parallel with Love Lane and occupy the far side of the Fellows Garden. The design is intended to retain as much green space and tree cover as possible and will use heat exchange and solar thermal technology for space heating. Together with existing accommodation it would enable for the first time all Mansfield undergraduate students to have a College room on site if they wish to do so.

The designs developed by Rick Mather Architects form the first phase of an ambitious masterplan and estates development strategy for the College.
