Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Will returned to Rick Mather Architects in 2014, following his studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL.

Will is currently part of the team working on the restoration of the Great Hall & Library and new build education and library facilities for the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in London; and also the team working on the Fairfield project in Croydon, a masterplan for a new cultural quarter in the town centre.

Katherine Freeman

Katherine joined Rick Mather Architects following her Bachelor degree at the University of Kent. Katherine is part of the team working on a series of feasibility projects for Transport for London, and is also assisting with the design development for residential infill schemes for the London Borough of Camden.

Darren Bruce

Architect

Darren joined Rick Mather Architects in 2012, he has valuable experience in the coordination and production of design information and high standards of design and technical knowledge to solve complex problems. He was part of the team overseeing the construction of Chester Balmore, one of the largest residential Passivhaus schemes in the UK.

Darren is currently part of the design teams working with Almacantar to refurbish the Grade II listed Centre Point complex, and with the London Borough of Croydon to refurbish its iconic Fairfield Halls as part of the Rick Mather Architects masterplan for a new cultural quarter in the town centre.

Gavin Miller

Partner

As Partner of Rick Mather Architects, Gavin has over 20 years experience in architecture and urban design, often in highly challenging and sensitive settings. He has become a specialist in being able to deliver successful solutions, through clear strategic and innovative spatial strategies, developed from a rigorous analysis of context, and in a wide range of scales. Gavin views architecture, infrastructure, urban design, the public realm and landscape as an integrated whole.

Gavin has lead or been involved a wide range of projects and scales, ranging from cultural master planning at Greenwich Maritime, the South Bank Centre and the Lyric Hammermsith; to mixed use masterplans for Gilston Park Estate, Barking Town Centre, Pudding Mill Lane and Milton Keynes. Gavin has led large scale campus masterplans for the Universities of Lincoln, Southampton and East London; and the delivery of award winning educational buildings such the School of Architecture at Lincoln and the Arts and Design Academy at Liverpool John Moores University. Gavin also led the design and delivery of Chester Balmore, one of the largest residential Passivhaus schemes in the UK, for the London Borough of Camden. Gavin is currently leading a series of feasibility projects for Transport for London and also the redevelopment of the grade II listed Centre Point complex in London.

Michal Oglaza

Joining Rick Mather Architects in 2013, Michal is part of the Centre Point team working for the contractor to refurbish the Grade II listed complex which is currently on site.

Jonty Craig

Architect

Jonty has worked on a variety of projects at Rick Mather Architects ranging from masterplanning schemes to educational, residential and cultural projects including the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, Mansfield College in Oxford, Christ's College New Library in Cambridge and the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith.

Jonty is currently project architect for the refurbishment of the Horniman Museum Anthropological Galleries in London.

Returning to Rick Mather Architects in 2014, Gladys has worked on the new extension to the Lyric Hammersmith, Centre Point and the Olympic Park Cultural and Education Quarter competition. Gladys is currently working on the Fairfield project in Croydon, a masterplan for a new cultural quarter in the town centre.

Stuart joined Rick Mather Architects in 1996 and has since worked on a range of significant projects including Dulwich Picture Gallery and the Wallace Collection in London. He has 20 years of experience working in masterplanning, education, performance, museum & gallery design. With an expertise in contemporary buildings in historic settings Stuart has overseen all of the practices projects in Oxford. He was the Project Architect and lead for the Sloane Robinson Building at Keble College; a new Music Room at Corpus Christi College; and led and implemented all phases of the Ashmolean Museum Masterplan, co-ordinating the team to deliver the award winning scheme.

As Partner Stuart is currently leading the teams working on Mansfield College, The Queen's College, Fairfield Cultural Quarter in Croydon, Lincoln's Inn Fields, Grays Inn, the Lancaster University Spine, the Horniman Museum, the Ipswich Museum Arts Campus, and the Hay Castle restoration project.

Paul Mullin

Paul has a wide range of experience in residential, masterplanning and urban design, with particular expertise working with local authorities on key regeneration schemes. He has recently led a large team to deliver a masterplan and various award winning buildings across the East Ham Civic Campus for the London Borough of Newham. Paul has been the Project Architect on a number of large multi-disciplinary projects, such as the Barking Town Centre Masterplan, the Stowe School Masterplan within the historically significant grounds of Stowe, and the Sustainable Residential Quarter in Milton Keynes. Paul has also worked on large scale campus masterplans for the Universities of Lincoln and Southampton and the largest residential Passivhaus scheme in the UK, Chester Balmore, for the London Borough of Camden.

Paul is currently leading teams working on the Ipswich Museum Arts Quarter, a new Boy's Boarding House at Stowe, a new cultural masterplan for Croydon, and the redevelopment of historic buildings in the St Thomas' Campus for King's College London.

Tim has a range of architectural experience leading educational, cultural and arts projects along with residential and masterplanning projects. Since joining Rick Mather Architects in 2005 he has undertaken a key role in the construction of the Art and Design Academy for Liverpool John Moores University. Tim has also worked on various residential projects including Kilburn Park Road and Hicks Bolton in South Kilburn, and has recently completed overseeing the construction of one of the largest residential Passivhaus schemes in the UK, Chester Balmore, for the London Borough of Camden.

Tim is currently leading the team on the restoration of the Great Hall & Library and new build education and library facilities for the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in London; and also the team refurbishing an office block in High Holborn to provide modern Chamber Space for the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn.

Joining Rick Mather Architects in 2013, Victoria has worked on various projects including Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre for the London Borough of Newham as part of the transformative East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan; and the Ipswich Museum Arts Campus Masterplan which involves an extensive refurbishment of the Museum and Arts Hub.

Victoria is currently part of the team working on the second phase of our masterplan at Mansfield College, the Love Lane building, developing designs for a new Institute of Human Rights facility, as well as student accommodation, seminar rooms and lecture theatres.

Jacob Spence

Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Hailing from Texas and most recently the University of Oregon in Portland, Jacob moved to London in the summer of 2013 to join our Centre Point team working on the refurbishment of the Grade II listed complex.

Jacob is currently working on the restoration of Hay Castle in Wales which will rescue the monument and provide high quality exhibition, cafe and educational spaces; and also the Ipswich Museum Arts Campus Masterplan which involves an extensive refurbishment of the Museum and Arts Hub.

James Roach

Part 2 Architectural Assistant

James joined our team following his Part 2 studies at London Metropolitan University. James is currently working on our Love Lane project at Mansfield College in Oxford which will house a new Institute of Human Rights as well as auditorium space and student accommodation.

Juliet Aston

Associate

Juliet is qualified both as an Architect and in History of Art providing a unique and informed approach to heritage led design. Since joining Rick Mather Architects in 2003 Juliet has gained valuable cultural and restoration project experience including the redevelopment of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in the USA, a new Auditorium at Corpus Christi College in Oxford, and leading the Ashmolean Museum's Egypt Galleries & Randolph Gallery Restoration.

Juliet is currently part of the team working on the Centre Point project in London, leading the conservation of historic features across the iconic complex. Juliet is also project architect for the restoration of Hay Castle in Wales, which will rescue and conserve the castle and provide new and unique exhibition, cafe and educational spaces.

Neil MacWilliams

Neil completed his architectural studies at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Westminster before gaining a range of expertise in the education, hospitality and cultural sectors, with particular experience in technical façade design and designing in historic contexts.

Since joining Rick Mather Architects Neil has been part of the team working on the restoration of the Great Hall & Library and new build education and library facilities for the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in London.

 

Matthew Eberhard

Since joining Rick Mather Architects in 2011 Matthew has worked on the East Ham Customer Service Centre + Library for the London Borough of Newham as part of the transformative East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan.

Matthew is currently part of the teams working on the Ipswich Museum Arts Campus; the Stowe School Boys Boarding House; the refurbishment of an office block in High Holborn to provide modern Chamber Space for the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn; and the redevelopment of historic buildings in the St Thomas' Campus for King's College London.

Tom joined Rick Mather Architects in 2006 and has since worked on a variety of residential and cultural projects including James Allen's Community Music Centre, West End One - a sustainable mixed use urban quarter in Central Milton Keynes, the extension to the Lyric Theatre, a masterplan for Barking River Roding and the Stowe School Boarding House at the historic Stowe campus.

Tom is currently part of the Centre Point team working to refurbish the Grade II listed complex, and the team designing a series of residential infill schemes in Camden. James Kirk

Architect

James originally joined Rick Mather Architects in 2007 and has worked on a variety of residential and regeneration projects including Central Milton Keynes West End One Sustainable Housing Development, Barking Town Centre Masterplan, and Barking Technical Skills Centre, as well as contributing to a number of successful competitions.

Since returning in 2012, James has been working in the team designing the redevelopment of the grade II listed Centre Point complex, as well as providing ongoing design work for the Dulwich Picture Gallery. James has also been a key member of competition teams such as the Heathrow City Feasibility Masterplan and the Olympic Park Cultural and Education Quarter Masterplan.

Javier Rada Domingo

Architect

Javier joined Rick Mather Architects in 2006 after completing his studies in Madrid. During his time here he has been actively involved in a wide range of projects including the Art & Design Academy at Liverpool John Moores University and the Southbank Centre Masterplan, London. He has worked on numerous projects at Stowe School, including the New Girls Boarding House and Art School and the current New Boys Boarding House.

Javier also worked as part of a team designing the award winning East Ham Customer Service Centre and Library for the London Borough of Newham as part of the East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan. He has most recently supervised the construction of residential schemes in South Kilburn, and is currently working on our residential proposals for the Fairfield Masterplan as part of a new cultural quarter in the centre of Croydon.

As a member of the Rick Mather Architects team since 2011, David has worked on the 16,000 sqm extension for the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts in the USA, Centre Point, and the New Library at the Queen's College Oxford.

David is currently working on our proposals for a major new facility at Keble College, including student accommodation, and education facilities, all centred around a new sixth quad for Oxford.

Paul Wynn

Architect

Paul joined the Rick Mather Architects team in 2009, and has since gained valuable experience working on a variety of residential, mixed use and masterplanning schemes, including residential projects in South Kilburn, the East Ham Civic Campus, the redevelopment of Centre Point, the New Library at the Queen's College Oxford, and the Pudding Mill Lane Masterplan. Paul has also been part of the team working on a series of feasibility studies for Transport for London assessing the strategic development of areas local to existing and proposed transport hubs.

Paul is currently part of the design team working on the North Harlow Masterplan to provide 10,000 new homes as part of the East of England Plan; and is also developing designs for a series of infill housing site schemes in the London Borough of Camden.

Jessie joined Rick Mather Architects to lead the design and delivery of a major new facility at Keble College in Oxford, including student accommodation and education facilities, all centred around a new sixth quad for the city. Jessie completed her architectural training at Cambridge University in the UK and Princeton University in the United States. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the practice having worked on numerous cultural, commercial and residential schemes in America, Japan and the UK.

David is an Associate at Rick Mather Architects, and has gained exemplary experience working on delivering a variety of masterplanning, mixed use, residential, education and cultural projects. Projects include a masterplan for Barking River Roding, West End One Milton Keynes, Liverpool John Moores University Art & Design Academy, and he was the Project Architect for latter stages of The Towner Contemporary Art Museum in Eastbourne.

David has recently led the construction of a new wing at the Lyric Hammersmith, the culmination of a 15 year masterplan; and is part of the Centre Point team working to refurbish the Grade II listed complex. David is also currently leading the Fairfield project in Croydon, a masterplan for a new cultural quarter in the town centre which includes the restoration of the iconic Fairfield Halls.

Mandy Franz

Architect

Mandy joined Rick Mather Architects in 2007, after completing her studies in Dresden and Bath. She has a broad range of expertise from design development, detailing, structural engineering and designing in historic contexts. Her experience includes the design and construction of the Corpus Christi College Auditorium in Oxford, the Acland Site for Keble College, the New Library for Christ's College Cambridge, the Lyric Hammersmith and several housing schemes for the London Boroughs of Camden and Brent.

Mandy is currently leading the facade design as part of the Centre Point team working to refurbish the Grade II listed complex in London; and is also leading the design and delivery of the library extension and related refurbishment works at The Queen's College in Oxford.

Lemma joined Rick Mather Architects in 2013 and has since worked on the Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre for London Borough of Newham as part of the transformative East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan; and numerous feasibility projects for Transport for London assessing the strategic development of areas local to existing and proposed transport hubs.

Lemma is currently part of the Centre Point team working to refurbish the iconic Grade II listed complex in London.

Chris joined Rick Mather Architects in 1998, he is our Technical Director and a Specialist Conservation Architect with a wealth of experience working on a number of significant projects in the UK and abroad. He was the Project Architect for the Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Royal Horticultural Society Headquarters in London, and the Jubilee Sports Centre at the University of Southampton. He has also provided technical and contractual support for projects including the Ashmolean Museum redevelopment; the Towner gallery, Eastbourne; The Queen's College Library, Oxford; New Music Room at Corpus Christi College, Oxford; and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond, USA.

Chris is currently involved in and providing specialist input on a variety of jobs across the office including the Centre Point Redevelopment in London, Keble College in Oxford, Mansfield College in Oxford and the refurbishment of Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

Kelly Ordemann

Kelly joined Rick Mather Architects in 2007 following an internship scheme with the University of Oregon and has since worked on a variety of residential and regeneration projects including Central Milton Keynes West End One Sustainable Housing Development; Barking Town Centre Masterplan; Barking Skills Centre, a 5,000 sqm further education college; and Chester Balmore, a mixed-use, highly sustainable community development for the London Borough of Camden.

Most recently Kelly has been a key member of the team designing the Customer Service Centre + Library and Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre for the London Borough of Newham as part of the transformative East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan. Kelly is currently part of the Lincoln's Inn team, developing designs for the restoration of the Great Hall and new build library and education facilities.

Danusia Lewis

Danusia has been working at Rick Mather Architects since 2011, contributing to projects such as the Customer Service Centre and Library and Newham Collegiate Sixth Form Centre for the London Borough of Newham as part of the East Ham Civic Campus Masterplan.

Danusia is currently working on public realm proposals for the new Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station and Centre Point redevelopment where we are designing a new world class square as part of the transformation of the iconic grade II listed complex.
