Playing a part in the regeneration of Glasgows East End, Homes of the Future is a showcase residential development located overlooking Glasgow Green. The project was the flagship for Glasgows 1999 Year of Architecture, and Rick Mather Architects was selected to design the central apartment block of the complex comprised of twenty-four apartments and penthouses. The boldly modelled sculptural facade of curving balconies faces south over the Green towards the river, while the the rear elevation overlooks a new landscaped urban square. Above the rippling balconies, a sky-deck with spectacular panoramic views bridges to the neighbouring building and provides access to the two and three bedroomed penthouses.
